About

Kate Dawson

I’m passionate about supporting adults with ADHD who are diagnosed later in life, particularly women. Through Embracing Your ADHD, I help people understand how their brains work and develop practical strategies to navigate challenges while building on their strengths.

As a late-diagnosed woman with ADHD myself, I understand the mix of relief, curiosity and reflection that often comes with discovering ADHD in adulthood. My coaching is grounded in lived experience, compassion and a deep belief in working in a person-centred way.

My own diagnosis came in my late 50s after hearing others share their ADHD experiences and recognising parts of myself. Learning about ADHD helped me understand many parts of my life — my love of new ideas, strategic thinking and connecting people, as well as the challenges I experienced with deadlines, organisation and emotional regulation. Through learning, therapy, medication and particularly ADHD coaching, I developed tools and strategies that have helped me create a life that works better for me.

This journey inspired me to create Embracing Your ADHD so that others can access the kind of understanding and practical support that made such a difference in my own life.

Alongside my lived experience, I bring more than 30 years of professional experience in human resources in the Australian Public Service, including significant work in disability and diversity. This has given me a strong understanding of how workplaces and systems can better support people to thrive.

My coaching approach is compassionate, practical and strengths-focused. I work with adults from all backgrounds, with a particular passion for supporting women who discover their ADHD later in life. Together we explore what works for your unique brain and develop strategies that help you build the life you want.
